Rabat nightlife presents a great mix of bars, live music, cafes and disco clubs throughout the city. While much of the bar scene is largely patronized by foreigners, a mix of foreigners and young Moroccans populate the open-air cafes and lively disco clubs centralized in their own areas of Rabat.

Rabat Bars

Though drinking alcohol is still considered taboo throughout much of Morocco, in Rabat consumption is legal and there are many nice bars to enjoy. Most of the bars that are visited by Westerners tend to be located in the more upscale hotels like Sofitel Diwan or the Rabat Hilton. Rabat Nightlife

Along Mohammed V and Allal Ben Abdallah Avenues there are many cafes featuring a full selection of non-alcoholic beverages and food as well as some great ambiance. Disco clubs are a popular non-alcoholic choice for people who enjoy dancing and socializing late into the night. Around the Rue Patric Lumumba and the Place de Melilla streets are the most clubs.

For cinema, the best place to catch a movie is the downtown Cinema Renaissance on Avenue Mohamed V though most movies shown are presented in only Arabic and French. In addition to regular show times, cultural centers often put on film weeks throughout the year. Cultural centers also put together many music festivals in Rabat throughout the year. Inquire at your hotel if any cultural events are taking place at the time of your visit.

The Dawlitz Complex has a 4-lane bowling alley and there are pool tables at Amnesia on Rue Monastir for anyone interested in a little gaming while out. Both venues offer specials throughout the week.
